Meet Mark Laakso, 61-Year-Old Crossfitter
61-year-old Mark Laakso is ranked the fittest man in CrossFit in the 60-plus age division.
But he didn’t quit. In fact, Laakso has now been focused on CrossFit for years. Now the 61-year-old is ranked the fittest man in CrossFit in the 60-plus age division.
Laakso sticks to a daily stretching and workout routine and a diet rich in protein that has toned his body and refreshes his energy. His workouts often consist of kettlebell swings, push-ups, box jumps, and medicine ball sit-ups. He does these in the morning for “an adrenaline rush that lasts the entire day.”
Laakso is in the best shape of his life, with the three hours each day he spends working out being the best hours of his day. And his advice for anyone wanting to start CrossFit later on in life?
“Don’t wait any longer,” says Laakso. “It’s the best thing that’ll ever happen to you… It’s really life changing.”
